It was one of those boring days, the ones that you can just never find anything to do no matter how hard you look.
'Typical, really' thought Remus as he plonked down in one of the huge maroon chairs by the Gryffindor fire. It was'alight even though it seemed a nice day outside. The weather never made up its mind at this time of year but then again most of the year it couldn't so it wasn't anything unusual.
Remus looked out the window with a small smile before turning to his rugged bag and pulling out the book his mother had given him for last Christmas. He had no idea what it was about nor did he know what it was called. The cover had been ripped off, apparently it was far from falling off anyway so his mother threw it away.
This annoyed Remus to some extent, mainly because he would've liked to of known what it was he was reading. He sighed and flicked it open. The pages were musty and some had holes in them. A few had been ripped out and much to Remus' annoyance, the first page. Remus was beginning to think he was wasting his time with it until he read a little.
'very dangerous unless it is full moon, then people are it great danger.' Remus frowned and knew exactly what he was reading about. It almost threw the book out the window but he knew his mother wouldn't be very impressed. He closed it gently and shoved it back into his bag. He screwed his face up in thought before pulling it back out again and opening it.
'May as well read it anyway, knowing a bit more wouldn't hurt, I guess,' he thought miserably before giving a small smile and burrying his nose in it.

The snitch played roughly in James' palm as if in an attempt to escape. His grip hardened and the grin was potraying largely by now. He'd managed to snag the famous Snitch, the only one of its kind. Instead of being 'golden,' this Snitch had the British Flag as its design. It really was a sight, though it really was a fiesty lit'le thing. As he made his way around the castle in search of Sirius, (partly to show off what he'd accomplished) he would let it out of his hand and quickly snatch it before it lingered to far. The eyes of passing females were caught on James, and the usual attraction fluttered through them. He was a goofy boy, but shaping up to be much, much more mature.
Distractedly, he breathed the password to that horrid Fat woman, and promptly climbed through the portrait hole. His hair bounced as he was careful not to open his hand. Although glasses were now lopsided, (he really should look into those bothersome contacts) the only concern he had was his new favorite toy. His head contorted as if to relieve the strands of hair from his face. When he entered awkwardly walking, he noted Remy reading some book or other. James' eyes quickly skimmed the cover but it didn't quite register in his brain. "'Ey, Moons, check-checkkk it out." He proudly sauntered, releasing the snitch and catching it again, pleased with himself. "Where's Pads, he'll be bloody jealous he hadn't thought of it."

Sirius nearly jumped out his skin as he awoke with a start, an owl tapping at the window pane. He rolled over with a groan to face the clock. 3:00 pm. Ahh. Perfectly well rested. He stretched before climbing out of bed and reaching across the floor to crack the window open for his owl. "Nice haul, ," he said rather sarcastically to the bird, as he dropped his load, a dead rat, on the floor at his feet. Sirius nearly gagged at the site but petted the bird on the head nevertheless. It flew back out the window again, probably to socialize in the Owlery.
He yawned and leaned bacwards in order to crack his back. It had become a habit for Sirius to sleep late on weekends, and often schooldays too. Without bothering to throw on a shirt, he headed downstairs to the common room, wearing nothing but his flannel pajama bottoms. His feet tripped along the cold stone steps, but such was the price of forgetting to wear one's slippers.
With his usual swagger, he trotted into the common room, his dark locks swaying perfectly with his walk. If he could do nothing else, Sirius could make one helluva of an entrance. He was bright-eyed although he was dying to get back in his warm bed.
Nice. The marauders. Well the important marauders anyway were sitting in a deserted corner, both looking rather bored as Remus wasn't much of an audience for whatever it that James had come up with. Padfoot combed his fingers through his black hair before sitting himself in chair across the coffee table from Remus.
"Whatcha got there?" he asked James, truly curious as to what the standing boy was holding.

Why is this book so obvious? I know all this stuff, well I would! Remus slightly chuckled to himself before jerking up from the book as he heard someone enter the common room.
Thank Merlin for that! I was beginning to think I'd have to actually read this book, Remus smiled as he saw James walk towards him. It wasn't like Remus to turn down a book but this one was just pathetic, especially when he knew everything in it anyway.
"Wotcher Prongs, very amusing, where'd you get that one then?" Remus asked amused. Typical of James really, Quidditch-a-holic. Remus gave a quick glance at the little buzzing ball before looking back at his book, not that he really wanted to read it. "Dunno, haven't seen him all day! Most likely-" Remus started but was cut off when he heard what sounded like someone stumbling down the stairs. Sirius emerged fromt he staircase and Remus' smile turned into a grin. "Still in bed," he finished and pointed in the direction of Sirius. "Morning to you Padfoot."
As Sirius sat down Remus shoved the book back into his bag and threw it on the floor. Remus looked back at the Snitch, he gave it a proper going over iwht his eyes and screwed his face up in thought. "Nice pattern on it, I'll give you that Prongs," Remus kept staring at the ball thoughtfully. If there was one thing Remus did know about Snitches, they were normally gold.

Thrilled with himself for drawing the attention to what lay in his palm, James answered Sirius by letting the snitch free. It hovered around for a bit, and when he was about to grab it as not to let it get lost, Remus spoke. A nice pattern? A nice pattern? Merlin's beard, nice pattern. Of course it had a nice pattern. Moony disregarded it, though, he quickly pounced as to reproclaim his true chicanery. "Eh-hem, Moons, it's a very rare Snitch, mind you. Stole it fresh this morning." It was amazing that he actually woke before the sun. Well, with Pads snoring as a lion would, it was amazing that anyone would actually sleep. He was half tempted to plug up those suckers.
"Why 'ello Sunshine," James directed to Sirius. "Did you hear that lad in there snoring louder than ever?" He was referring to Sirius himself, but figured he wouldn't get the joke. And it was then that James remembered the Snitch. "Damn!" He exclaimed, jumping on the couch in an attempt to catch the fleeing snitch. James straightened his glasses and jumped from the empty couch to the chair that Rem was sitting on. His foot nearly hit the sensitive area where the 'sun don't shine,' but he was paying no mind to such matters. By now his arms were flailing around as he made attempts to catch his beautiful Snitch.
The cushions scrawled, papers array, and James on the prowl, the bloody Snitch continued to effortlessly fly around. He was on the couch again, and in one last fleeting attempt, he threw himself in the air with arm extended. It was more of a dive than anything, but all attempts failed. James was on his stomach, on the ground, and let out a loud "Nmphh." His glasses were now astrew and he was starting to get cranky. Even worse, the Snitch flew straight past him and up to the Girls' Dormitory. Perfect. A grin formed on his once agitated face as he lept to his feet and ran to grab his broomstick. When he was back, broom in hand, he shot a sideways glance at Sirius. "Care to join me?"

"Figures," said Remus smiling at James. Typical really of James, Quidditch-a-holic. Remus spread his legs wide open as James came flying at him. He sighed with relief when he noticed how close James foot was to his privates.
"Mind those giant feet of yours Prongs! I might not be chasing women like you and Padfoot here but I still will be using them one day!" he gave a small chuckle and stood up. He watched the Snitch whiz round. Remus raised an eyebrow as the Snitch flew towards the girls dorm.
Oh boy, time to go to the library I think, he pulled an awkward expression and James' words and shook his head slowly.
"I thinkI'll pass on this one thanks mate," Remus looked at Sirius knowing what his answer would be, even if he was still in his pyjamas, well half of them anyway.

"I didn't hear a soul snoring," he said with a glare at James. Sirius was slow, true, but he wasn't stupid. He brushed back the black locks again before leaning back in his chair and propping his feet up on the coffee table, carefully crossing one ankle over the other, his heels resting on a battered old copy of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. He never had been one to respect books. They dying embers in the fireplace provided no more warmth than an ice cube. But Sirius would not sacrifice looking cool in exchange for comfort. No. he would sit, bare-chested in the armchair till he rotted.
He watched, an amused look painted on his face, as James chased the Snitch about, very nearly missing Moony's croutch.
"Care to join me?"
Sirius grinned widely, "But of course, mon amis." He said, suddenly adopting a very fake French accent. He did have quite an odd sense of humor. Sirius "borrowed" a broom lying on the couch. Sirius and James knew what to expect of the girls' staircase. They had tried a few times before. Often to sneak into the 7th Year Girls' dormitory at all hourse of the night. He mounted the broom.
"Shall we?"

Remus couldn't beare to watch but he stil grinned at his two friends. Remus wondered when the day would arrive when they turned into old men who just sat in their chairs reminiscing and too lazy to do anything. He gave a little chuckle at this thought before snapping back to reality.
"I hope Lily's not there, for your sake Prongo. But then again, I do love to see her bite your head off," Remus said sarcastically before plonking back down in his chair as Sirius mounted his broom, well someone elses broom that had been lying around. People really needed to learn to put there things away. Remus would've thought they might've learned after the numerous times their things had gone missing or were found broken after they had come in contact with the Marauders.
Remus didn't pull his book out again but instead picked up a copy of the Daily Prophet that had also been lying on the table. He uncrumpled it and began scanning it's colums for something of interest. He doubt he would find anything exciting.
