Lily Evans sat quietly and alone at the gryffindor table in the graet hall. She shivered and waited for the others to arrive. She had just come in from the cold and was tired and fed up. Stupid Slughorn had given her even more head-girl duties to do, as if she didn't already have enough!
She smiled and opened the book that was currently sitting on the table in front of her. "Werewolves and Vampires; Legend or Truth?" She was studing it for defence against the dark arts and was deperately trying to seem interested in it, but she couldn't. This stuff just wasn't her forte. She preferred things she could prove, stuff she could see and believe. Probably quite rich coming from a witch.
Then there were the mauderers. Of course she didn't know they were called that, but they all annoyed her. The only one she could even see herself striking some sort of friendship with was Remus, but nothing more than that. He was sort of like her younger brother and she traeted him that way. James had somehow got it in his head that they were meant for each other. What a loser, seriously, as if she would even think about him in that way. Peter just plain freaked her out and Sirius was a scum bag who's life ambition was to get into every girl's pants. Thankfully apart from her, because she thought that he had some pact on with james that he wouldn't touch "his girl". Not that she was anybody's property.
Suddenly she heard a noise behind her. Thinking that finally someone was here she could talk to she turned around. Her face turned sour however when she realised who it was.

((Sorry for the lateness, I've been sick))
Sirius leaned back over his chair and cracked his back with a grunt. History of Magic had to be the most boring class on the face of the Earth. He glanced up at the clock. It seemed it had been magically stopped by some ancient Professor who wanted to discourage the wandering eyes of bored students. There was no way to tell what time it was but... yes, Sirius saw a Care of Magical Creatures Class heading inside the building. They always came in a few minutes before the bell so they wouldn't be late to class.
"Professor, I've got to use the restroom," He said aloud, not bothering to raise his hand or phrase it as a question. He picked up the notebook covered in doodles atop his desk and strode out, ignoring his disbelieving classmates faces. He often did this with James but it had yet to happen in a class where he was not with his best friend. But he, in all honesty, could not sit through a minute more of the old wind bags' droning.
He swaggered down the hall, passing the boys' room with a shrug. It was obvious he didn't really need to use the restroom but rather head down to lunch before the rush. He liked a nice selection of entrees at mealtime. Down one hallway, then the next, swinging his book at his side the whole time. He trotted down the grand staircase, two steps at a time, and then made a sharp left walking through the large oaken doors that opened into the Great Hall.
It was mostly deserted, empty of any Gryffindors but a petite red head. Lily Evans. He wasn't too happy with this. Sure she could be nice but she was annoying as hell. Nevertheless, he slid onto the bench across from her and said, "Hey, Evans," a bit too curtly.

Amy sighed with boredom. It was her free period and she had absolutely nothing to do. To some people, this was greeat! They could lie around doing absolutely nothing and not care, but to Amy, she hated it. It would be okay if she could come up with something to do, but she had almost sprained her ankle trying to teach herself to do a backhand spring. This meant that her usual method of dancing around on the lawn was out. She did jump on a broom and fly around across the lake, but after two hours, that got boring. Of course, she would never fly around the Quiditch Pitch, it drove her nuts to never be going anywhere.
She finally decided to go to lunch, although early, maybe someone would actually be there. Amy almost jumped for joy when she first saw a familier redhead and dark haired boy. She pirrouetted towards them before remembering the pain in her ankles. She grimaced as her foot came crashing down on the cold floor. Although she knew it was not broken, it still hurt.
Amy bit her lower lip and forced herself not to dance to the table. She finally got there, taking much more time than it usually would. She first hugged Sirius, who was closer, then leaned over the table to give Lily a hug. She didn't want to walk around the table because her foot hurt. "Hey guys!" She said, completely oblivious to the tension between them. She noticed a few girls from down the table glaring at her because she hugged Sirius, but she ignored them. It was gross to even think about Sirius and her being an item. He was like her older brother for goodness sakes!
Finally noticing how Sirius and Lily were subtly glaring at each other, she pretended to ignore it but said, "You would not believe how bored I was." Actually this was kinda apparent because Amy was pretty much always bored, but she was hoping it would break the ackwardness.
