"Charrie Time"
Charrie's Name: Remus John Lupin
Date of Birth: March 10 1960(ish)
House: Gryffindor
Year: 7th
Apperance: Remus is rather well built; his upper body is muscular and sturdy while his lower body is strong and lengthy. His strong build is due to his full moon experiences. He will mostly come out on top in a fight but he has hardly ever been in any fights as he is quiet and keeps to himself mostly. He is roughly 5” 10’ so he is fairly tall.
His hair resembles a newly bought mop, which has been died a red brown colour. His hair is often messy and is fairly short, roughly ear length.
Remus’ eyes are a dazzling hazel, which are almost golden. Staring into his eyes can have a very weakening feeling. During full moons however, his eyes are almost bright yellow and blinding.
Remus often is very pale faced and peaky, giving him a haunty appearance, though when his face is not lacking pigment he is rather handsome. He also looks haunty due to the fact he often has scares and bruises scattered across his face from fighting during werewolf form.
Personality: Remus is calm and often secluded. Remus doesn’t make a habit of drawing attention to himself. He keeps his nose out of most people’s business but when he does stick it in he will often give rash, helpful and well intentioned advise. He chooses to stay out of people’s ways and is often caught reading. He is extremely loyal to the friends he can make, which seems to be hard for him as he finds it difficult to trust people with his ‘secret’. Remus finds it easy to cope with problems in his life and in others’ lives. Him having to cope with being a werewolf since he was eight is the main cause of this and over time he has gradually learnt to ignore what other’s say about him, to his face or behind his back.
Remus is also very affectionate and caring. He doesn’t like to see others hurt but he makes a few exceptions. He has a gentle air about him and would rather help others than himself. He is extremely loyal and brave at heart though he does not often show it.
Remus is very smart and is what you would call a spock. He often helps others to cope with homework tasks and the reading side of school work. He is often the brains behind Sirius and James’ trouble, though lets them take all credit for it.
History: Remus was born in Ireland, on March the 10th 1960. His parents decided to move to London in 1964 so he could go to Hogwarts and have since been living in a two-story brick house in the West End of London in St. James's. In 1968 Remus turned eight years old but his father offended Fenrir Greyback and he bit Remus in revenge. Remus does not blame his father for this, he often tells his father he would’ve done the same thing.
Remus has since been a werewolf and every full moon he transforms making him a hazard to humans. His cousin, Arckisa, would often come and stay with him but she was always very cautious because she did not want to get bitten. Often Remus would be depressed but she would comfort him. Arckisa helped him a great deal accept his ‘problem’ and he learnt to cope with it fine.
Remus spent most of his time growing up with his mother and father fretting over him being a werewolf, they were always concerned for his safety and were extremely fussed over him not being able to attend Hogwarts due to his ‘problem’, as they called it. Albus Dumbledore was very kind and helpful, creating the whomping willow, and shrieking shack for him to use during full moons at Hogwarts.
Your Charrie in 10 Years: Remus would really like to be the owner of his own bookshop. Nothing to fancy, one of those little crammed shops that's always warm and you don't have to buy anything when you go in, just pop in for a chat. He always dreams of selling books he has read and knows like the back of his hand/paw.
Sample Post: This is a Remus role-play sample of him when he's older, left school that is. I hope that's ok. If not give me a bell and I'll write you up a nice younger one.
Remus tried to push the pain from his mind as he slid to the edge of his bed awkwardly, making sure not to put pressure on his left leg. He winced as a sharp pain travelled up his shin and into his knee. He groaned miserably and pushed himself off his bed. The bed creaked slightly with relief as though a giant had just lifted itself from it. He grabbed a long chocolate coloured stick, which had been resting beside a set black of drawers, though they were almost grey from dust and greasy marks. His limp was worse than yesterday and it began to burn with pain.
Remus’ room was dimly lit, his illuminate wand the only source of light, giving it the appearance of a dungeon. A large mirror opposite his bed reflected the wand’s light and Remus’ pale face. He looked depressed and sick and his hair stuck out from his head savagely. He sighed at the sight of himself and couldn’t help but grin slightly. He began thinking about what his old friends would say if they saw him so rugged and beaten. Sirius would suggest I clean myself up to find a decent woman and James would tell him I’ll never change. He thought. He felt miserable but this thought cheered him up faintly.
Remus fought the pain in his leg as he managed to hobble round his room to pull clothes from places they had ended up in his scramble to get in bed the previous night. His musty brown trousers where screwed up and lodged between his bed post and the wall; one of his dull black shoes had landed in a half open draw and the other was hiding behind a worn armchair, which was greyer than the black drawers. Remus pulled a fresh shirt, though it looked unwashed and moth eaten, from his bottom draw, which seemed reluctant to close again and placed it on his bed with the rest of his clothes he’d found.
It took some time but Remus was finally dressed and he threw open an old wardrobe, it’s hinges broken so badly the door came off completely. Remus sighed and stared at the door blankly.
“I’ll fix you another day, I’m already late,” he said politely to the door. The door creaked as though it had acknowledged his generosity. He rummaged through the wardrobe for a moment and pulled out what looked like a faded black robe. Remus threw it on his bed and struggled to place the door against the wardrobe, which wobbled fiercely. Remus picked up the robe and threw it around himself so it just touched the grubby floor, securing it around his neck roughly. He picked his wand up from the drawers and placed it inside his pocket and staggered out the dark musty room, leaving it motionless and silent.
